Book Review: Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Life by J.D. Greear

This is an interesting book with a strange and thought-provoking title.  It will pique the interest of many readers though!

How many Christians ask Jesus into their hearts?  Most Christians do many times.  But does this mean that our salvation is guaranteed?  Probably not.  Salvation is one of the mot complex topics in Holy Scripture.  But as Christians, we can hope to be saved from eternal damnation by living a good life and following God’s commandments.  As Greear says:  “Salvation is a posture of repentance and faith that you begin in a moment and maintain for the rest of your life.”

God does give us that assurance.  It is at the core of the gospel message.  But the Bible also warns that we could lose our salvation if we are not careful. God motivates us by the security of love. God is radically committed to us because we are his beloved children  We just must believe and not question all the time. Are you ready to do this?

I loved the book from beginning to end.  I think it will help many Christians come to terms with the depth of their beliefs in the one risen God.
