Book Review:

Memoirs of a Jaded Woman
By: Emunah La-Paz

What woman would not feel hurt if her husband started cheating on her with an older and much uglier woman? Most women would feel deeply hurt and betrayed to the point where her self-esteem would suffer. But the good news is that there are things that we could do to help ourselves!

Emunah’s book is about betrayed women in the hands of their husbands. As Emunah spoke to women further, she discovered that extra marital affairs are running rampant in our society today. For some reason, some men are not happy to be married to one woman and build a life with her alone. This was especially the case for Judie, one woman who Emunah got to know. Judie was gorgeous yet she was betrayed by her husband. Judie wanted to get to the bottom of why her man cheated on her. Emunah was so curious that the idea for this novel was born. After reading Emunah’s book, women can no longer be naïve about betrayal.

As Emunah was doing the research for this book, she discovered that many women had cheating husbands. Many of these women felt inadequate, and this could have been one of the chief reasons why they put up with so much abuse. But more than that most of these were good living women who were trying to live their lives honestly and in an upright manner. So, it was so sad to read that their husbands were anything but honest with them.

Emunah’s book showcases many stories of betrayal by spouses. I was saddened that women suffer so much in the hands of their husbands. Women will be able to relate to all the stories contained in the book. The book also shows how therapeutic writing can be when women feel betrayed.

Emunah’s book has inspired me to write my own story. I sure hope that it will do the same for all readers. If we write our stories, I think we will have found an outlet—a way to break the silence of betrayal.
