A Book Review For Tyndale Book Publishers

You’re Stronger Than You Think
Dr. Les Parrott

Would you like to stop feeling powerless all the time and develop the strength to do whatever you want? If you do, this book is for you!

We all have an amazing power in our mind, heart and soul. All we have to do is to learn to harvest this power within us and to live boldly. Most of us give up perusing a bright future. We just want to do what we’re doing, and that’s all. We don’t examine our life. We simply slip into the mould of the usual and mediocre. This does nothing to help us to lead the best life we are capable of sadly. But after reading Parrott’s book, we will want to live boldly.

Parrott believes we need to focus on the power of our mind, heart, and soul to become stronger. The beginning of strength starts with how we think. We should try not to over think by clearing our heads to figure out the obvious. We should think simply and stop making life too complicated. Clear thinking takes courage but it is necessary. Parrott shows us how to clear our heads by asking us to reflect on a few questions at the end of each chapter. The reader can reflect on where she is and where to go from here.

Further, the reader will learn how to be in control and strong in his/her heart. One way to do this is to admit our weaknesses of heart and to step over unhealthy pride and become more authentic. An anxious heart can weigh us down. We must become more peaceful and not try to artificially prop ourselves up. The first step is knowing ourselves and living from our heart.

Lastly, our soul should surrender to the moments of our life. There’s a real strength in letting go. No one of us is exempt from pain. We have to make a choice to be emptied. This isn’t an easy choice. It is the choice to find hope in our hurt and to choose the direction of our life. And it is the determination to make the best of the worst.

Being bold means living to the fullest. It is about transcending learned hopelessness and living a strong life, empowered by passion. We can all do this. Passion is an inside job and we could all go inside and find our passion with courage.

I loved Dr. Parrott’s book from beginning to end. I also learned a lot about letting go, owning my weaknesses, and moving forward with passion. I intend to purchase his work book and do a lot of soul-searching.

I received this book compliments of Tyndale Publishers Ltd. for exchange of a review.
