Book Review for Tyndale Book Publishers

Bringing Up Girls: Practical Advice and Encouragement
For Shaping the Next Generation of Women

Dr. Dobson’s book is for adolescent girls and about them. We all love girls. But how can parents bring up the healthiest and most fulfilled Christian girls?

This is what Dr. Dobson’s book focuses on. He so eloquently discusses how parents can alleviate a lot of difficulties, such as peer pressure, eating disorders, stress, romance, and sex by loving them unconditionally and giving them a healthy Christian upbringing. Girls need to have spiritual training in the home and they need to be taught the importance of moral purity so that they can stand back from our culture’s unrealistic demands on them. Only parents can protect a girl’s innocence and preserve a girl’s childhood and adolescence from violent and psychological upheaval.

I loved this book from beginning to end. It will become a source book for me as my nieces are growing up into adolescence.

Dr. James C. Dobson is a licensed psychologist and marriage, family and child counsellor. He is also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and has been an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Southern California, School of Medicine.

Thank you Dr. Dobson for such as a great book!

I received this book compliments of Tyndale Publishers Ltd. for exchange of a review.
