Book Review for Canadian Book Challenge

The $10 Gourmet:
Restaurant-Quality Meals that Won’t Break Your Budget
Ken Kostick

This is a great book written by a Canadian chef for anyone who is trying to stretch his/her grocery dollars yet eat well. We live in an expensive time. The cost of groceries just keeps rising. Yet people’s wages are not going up at all. In fact, some people are losing their jobs altogether and are downsized. This can make it especially difficult for many consumers to buy quality food at affordable prices. Ken Kostick makes it easy for the reader to do so by giving tons of examples and even grocery lists of what to buy to make the meals that he has in the book.

Ken’s book is full of $10 recipes that most families will enjoy. For a mere $50 to $70 a week, the average consumer could buy and prepare gourmet meals right in the comfort of their own homes by following the recipes in Ken’s book. The recipes are simple and the instructions are easy to follow.

I love the book and recommend it for all families who are too busy to cook great meals, and feel unable to do so. Ken makes it easy for all of us to follow. I know I will be buying Ken’s book for Christmas for a lot of my friends.
