Book Review Published First on Blogcritics

The Solution: Conquer Your Fear, Control Your Future
        Lucinda Bassett
        New York: Sterling Publishing, 2011

Article first published as Book Review: The Solution: Conquer Your Fear, Control Your Future by Lucinda Bassett on Blogcritics.

Lucinda Bassett’s The Solution is a very
important book, given our current anxiety-ridden
culture. We seem to be inundated by negativity
and fear, and there doesn’t seem to be a way out.
Because of this, anxiety and depression levels
have risen to new highs over the past decade or
so. Something needs to be done and Bassett is
        indeed doing just that.
The Solution shows how anxiety sufferers can
take back their power so that they can find the
confidence and strength that they need to live
fulfilling and happy lives. We have to begin with
our thoughts. If our thoughts are negative, our
lives will be negative as well. And anxiety-prone
        people have many negative thoughts.
In order to reverse those anxious and negative
feelings, they have to reprogram their negative
thoughts in favour of positive ones. In her book,
Bassett outlines a 21 day plan that all readers
can participate in to take control of their
lives.  Since it takes 21 days to break any bad
habit and form a new one, this book outlines a
doable guide to a complete emotional makeover
        that everyone can participate in.
Bassett makes the reprogramming process easier
by including positive and empowering personal
affirmations throughout the book. These personal
affirmations may seem difficult for many anxious
readers to initially bring about. However, after
reading the book, these affirmations will make
sense. And with patience and practise, readers
can reprogram their negative thoughts in favour
        of positive ones.
I would recommend the book to anyone who
suffers from anxiety or loves someone who does.
This book will change their lives for the better.
It is such a hopeful and inspiring book and,
therefore, a joy to read.  So, let’s all get on
        the path to positive self-transformation!
